Tell us a little about yourself. What do you do, where do you live? How old were you when you first started cycling and how did you get started?

I live in Transylvania in Romania in a small town located in the mountains. I manage and own a small logistics company which is the main “sponsor” of my cycling activities. I was a 110kg motorcyclist at 49 years of age and after my third knee surgery the doctor told me if I wanted to continue walking and living an able-bodied life, I must stop riding, he suggested and that I should try out cycling for a change. That’s how I started.

What was/is the most challenging thing about cycling for you?

The biggest challenge in this sport in my opinion is to maintain a competitive weight while being able to give 100% in the daily workouts.

What is it about cycling that connects/inspires you?

I used to provide motorcycling support services to professional cycling races under the team of SafetyBike, i always admired the energy and the dynamics of a professional cycling race and i wanted to be a part of it

How does cycling impact your life?

I lost 35kgs in 2 years, at 56 years old I’m more fit then in my younger years, and a consistent workout schedule became an important part of my life.

Where has been your favorite place to ride

The South of Spain

What 3 words would you use to describe cycling?
